How did we manage life before the Internet?

The Internet, online video, social media…they’re all part of our everyday lives. Not that long ago though, the Internet didn’t exist. The website Whoishostingthis put together an infographic highlighting the growth of almost every aspect of the Internet. Here are some highlights.

Out of all the videos the world has created, Gangnam Style had the honor of being the first to reach 1 billion views.

Users view over 500 years of YouTube videos each day on Facebook. And over 700 YouTube videos are shared each minute on Twitter.

In 2012, 294 billion emails were sent. That’s over 204 million per minute. Reportedly over 66% of that was spam. The first email was sent in 1971.

There were only 130 websites in 1993. In 2012 there were 634 million.

It’s amazing how quickly we’ve all adapted to the new possibilities, tools, and entertainment options. Check out the full infographic to see all the details.
